According to the Romanian missions, the presidents of the voting sections overseas estimate that a number of 61,400 Romanians cast their votes worldwide this Sunday, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informs. During the first round of elections two weeks ago, 50,000 Romanian citizens had voted by 5 pm.

The most numerous participation was recorded with the four voting sections from Moldova, but also in Italy - Milan, Rome, Treviso; in France - Paris; in Spain - Castellon, Zaragoza, Coslada; in Greece - Athens; in Belgium – Brussels; in England - London.

At 3 pm (Romanian time), the voting started in Mexico City and other sections from the US - the four sections in Chicago, the sections from Dallas, Huston, Larose, Niles and Minneapolis. At 4 pm, the sections in Phoenix opened, and the rest of the voting sections from US opened at 5 pm (Romanian time).

The voting in the United States of America has run smoothly so far. According to MAE, the overseas voting started in Auckland (New Zeeland) on Saturday, 8 pm (Romanian time) and will conclude on Monday, December 7, in the US, at 7 pm. According to the law, the voting sections are opened from 7 am to 9 pm.
