Some 53.51% of Romanian voters cast their ballots by 7 p.m. in presidential elections on Sunday, according to the Central Electoral Office. In the first round of the poll two weeks ago, 49.97% cast their ballots by 7 p.m..

Turnout in urban areas stood at 50.59%, while turnout in rural areas - at 57.51%.
