Traian Basescu was voted by 94.8% of the Romanian electorate from the Republic of Moldova, while Mircea Geoana got 5.2%, according to Unimedia.md, quoting sources from the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE).

During the first round of presidential elections, Traian Basescu got 90.7% of the votes cast by the Romanian electors from the republic of Moldova. Crin Antonescu came second, with 3.7%, followed by Mircea Geoana with 3.5%.

In the Republic of Moldova, 12,300 people voted by 9 pm. In the November 22 elections, there were 8.777 people expressing their vote at the same polls.
