The Police in Singapore concluded the investigation addressing a hit-and-run accident caused by a Romanian Embassy car, which resulted in one dead and two injured. According to ChannelNewsAsia.com, the results of the investigation have not been made public, but a police spokesperson declared documents were sent to the general Prosecutor's Office for the necessary measures to be taken.

On the night of December 15, 2009, a Romanian Embassy car hit 3 pedestrians in Singapore around 3.10 am. One of the three, a 30 year-old man, suffered serious injuries and died on Christmas Day.

Romanian Embassy to Singapore business attaché Silviu Ionescu declared, immediately after the accident, that the Romanian Embassy car was allegedly stolen and claims he was not in the car at the moment of the accident. Soon after the event, Silviu Ionescu returned to Romania.

In the beginning of this year, Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry requested the Prosecutor's Office from the High Court of Justice to investigate the accident. Silviu Ionescu was summoned to Romania to support the judicial authorities in Bucharest with the investigation.
