Republic of Moldova is ready to start negotiations to sign the association agreement with the EU, EC Foreign Policy Director chief Gunnar Wiegand declared after the first round of negotiations ended on Tuesday, HotNews.md reads. Wiegand runs the European experts delegation to Moldova.

He explained that negotiations are ready to start, Moldovan authorities reached a perfect agreement to align to European standards. He said that Moldova is ready to negotiate but warned that the process will involve complex talks.

In the upcoming months, the delegation will also tackle the issue of liberalization of visas for European citizens. He said that the EU is ready to offer Moldova the necessary financial assistance to overcome the crisis.
