Romania's Foreign Affairs minister Teodor Baconschi and American Ambassador Mark Gitenstein had a meeting on Friday to discuss aspects related to the strategic partnership between the two countries, a Foreign Affairs ministry press release reads. This is the first meeting of Baconschi as Foreign Affairs minister . Gitenstein thanked Baconschi for the decision of Romanians to supplement its troops by 600 soldiers.

Plus, the Foreign minister advanced the proposal to organize this year, a Romanian American business forum to emphasize Romania's wish to develop economic cooperation between the two countries.

US Ambassador took the opportunity to thank Romania for its contribution in Afghanistan underlining that Romanians are grateful to the Romanians.
