Justice minister Catalin Predoiu prepares a legislative project that will fast forward trial procedures to improve the time rate for each trial, Romanian news agency Agerpres reads. The aim of the project is to simply trials and deal with the CEDO problem, he said.

Romania has over 4 million trials ongoing at the moment and each judge is packed with cases. The codes will aid the simplification process and will improve the time rates of the trials, Predoiu underlined.

Predoiu said that Romania has many more trials at the European Court of Human Rights compared other EU states and our country occupies the fourth position in a top of lost cases after Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. Predoiu said that the situation improved lately in what concerns such cases and their procedures were simplified as much as possible.
