Russian army General: the anti-missile shield is against Russia, whatever Washington might say

The American anti missile shield targets Russia, despite the official statements from Washington, Russian General Nikolai Makarov declared quoted by AFP. He underlined that the development and the implementation of the defense system are actions that threaten Russia.

He said that the system undermines Russia's strategic plans irrespective of what American officials declared. The development of the systems weakes Russia's potential, Makarov said. His declarations follow Romanian President Basescu's declarations in which he announced that Romania will participate in the anti-missile shield project at Obama's invitation.
