"PDL and the independents are trying to breach Romania's Constitution. Now in opposition, but also when the party is going to be in power, PSD will not take the political struggle beyond the Constitution's border, the way the Lib Dems are doing", the PSD president added.
"I am convinced that the Senate Speaker role will stay with the Social Democratic Party and with Mircea Geoana", Victor Ponta concluded.
The Lib Dems have requested on Wednesday that their petition regarding the dismissal of Mircea Geoana from his Senate Speaker role to be subjected to voting. The Senate's Speaker refused to include PDL's request on the day's agenda.
