Romania's General Prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi sent on Thursday morning the approval of the Senate to arrest Senator Catalin Voicu to the anti graft department, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs.

Judicial sources informed that on Thursday anti graft prosecutors will interrogate businessman Costel Casuneanu and judge Florin Costiniu.

The Senate approved on Wednesday the request of anti graft prosecutors to arrest Senator Catalin Voicu. Catalin Voicu was not present at the meeting, as he was hospitalized. According to prosecutors, Voicu received from businessman Costel Casuneanu in two instalments 60,000 euro and 200.000 euro in exchange for an intervention in a court case.
