Romanian PM Emil Boc called a meeting with county prefects at the Victoria Palace on Wednesday, June 23, Romanian news agency Agerpres informs, quoting The Government's Press Office. The video-conference follows the recent floods, which have affected at least 12 counties.

The 12 counties affected by floods are Alba, Arad, Bihor, Cluj, Mehedinti, Mures, Neamt, Salaj, Suceava, Botosani, Vaslui and Timis.

Two persons have lost their lives, hundreds of households have been damaged, tens of people were evacuated and the traffic on several county and national roads was blocked, according to Radio Romania.

Hydrologists have extended the yellow code regarding rivers in Cluj, Salaj, Satu Mare and Bihor until Wednesday evening. Meteorologists have issued a yellow code for rain in Moldova (East), the Danube Delta (South East) and for all mountainous and hill regions. On Wednesday morning, hydrologists issued an orange code for floods for the Prut river (Eastern border), on the Oroftiana - Stanca Costesti area (Botosani county).
