Members of unions Cartel Alfa and National Union Block protest in Bucharest this morning, between 9 and 11am, in front of Cotroceni Palace. They ask the president to not adopt the law that entails a cut in salaries and pensions, should it be declared constitutional by the Romanian Constitutional Court. The rally will stop the traffic in the area.

Unions announced between 3,000 and 4,000 union members are going to participate in the rally, but only around 600 protesters turned up, according to Romanian news agency Mediafax.

Around 10:30, several protesters attempted to break into the Palace, but the order forces stopped them, news channels announce.

Traffic is closed until 11:30 on the Geniului Boulevard and between Iuliu Maniu Boulevard, Danny Huwe Piata and the Panduri crossroad with Dumitru Bagdasar St.

The rally took to Geniului Boulevard, from the crossroad with Iuliu Maniu Boulevard to the Panduri Road, in both ways. Road police recommend drivers to avoid, as far as possible, to area.​
