Romanian hydrologists issued a new red alert for floods along the Prut river starting Thursday until 4.00 p.m. on Friday. The red code warning targets the Stanca-Falciu sector (Botosani, Iasi and Vaslui counties) and the Sivita-Danube sector (Galati county) of Prut river.

An orange code warning is still in place for the Falciu-Sivita sector of Prut river (Vaslui, Galati county) and for Siret river - the Sendreni-Danube sector (Galati county) as well as for Tisa river in Maramures county, Northern Romania.

A yellow code warning for floods has also been decided for sectors of Prut in Botosani and Iasi counties in North-Eastern Romania as well as for the upper parts of Dambovita, Ialomita, Prahova and Teleajen rivers in Arges, Dambovita and Prahova counties, South Romania.
