Almost three quarters of Romanians, about 70% will not leave on holiday this year while 25% will, a survey conducted by a pooling institute, IRES reads quoted by the Romanian news agency Agerpres.

75% of the persons interviewed declared that the current economic crisis affects the family's holiday budget. Only 17% of them declared that their budget was not affected by the crisis as they were not planning to go on holiday. Only 7% of the people questioned said that the current crisis did not affect their budget.

Regarding the VAT increase, 69% of the respondents said that the measure affects their holiday plans while 29% claim they are not affected. Romanians prefer to leave on holidays with their family or with both family and friends - about 37%.
