Romanian Nicoleta Grasu obtained a silver medal at the discus throw, at the 20th European Athletics Championship in Barcelona. Nicoleta Grasu threw 63.48 meters but was outscored at the last throw by Croatian Sandra Perkovic. This is Romania's first medal at the Championship.
Nicoleta Grasu registered her best performance this year. Nicoleta was one step away to get the gold medal, but Sandra Perkovic managed to throw at her last try 64.67 meters and secured the gold.
