The technical service chief at the Giulesti maternity, Vasile Dima, was arrested on Friday by prosecutors for 24 hours in the penal file related to the fire at the Giulesti maternity ward on August 16 which caused the death of 5 new borns and the severe injury of another 6, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs.
Vasile Dima was responsible of the surveillance of AC installations in the hospital and with the instruction of the personnel to ensure that protection norms are respected. Prosecutors plan to urge judges to temporary arrest Vasile Dima.
