15 cases of infection with the West Nile virus were confirmed in Romania by Friday morning, according to data announced by the Health Ministry. Most cases were reported in the countries of Constanta (four) and Mures (two).

One case of West Nile virus infection was reported in each of the following counties: Dolj, Alba, Buzau, Cluj, Ialomita, Galati, Sibiu, Bucharest, Teleorman.

Two other suspect cases were subject of investigations on Friday morning.
