The Social Democrats announced on Thursday that it is getting ready to attack at the Constitutional Court the new law on pensions adopted on Wednesday by the Chamber of Deputies. The leader of the Social Democrats Victor Ponta declared for the Romanian news agency Mediafax that the Social Democrats will attack the law before the normative act will be passed in the Parliament.

Victor Ponta announced that the Social Democrats will also submit an address against the Chamber of Deputies speaker Roberta Anastase which could also be submitted to court. Anastase is accused that it allowed voting procedures to be frauded.

The Social Democrats consider that more rullings of the law - among which those that eliminate pensions based on occupation and those that eliminate exceptional pensions for those working in the military, police officers and magistrates - are unconstitutional.
