President Basescu consults with governing coalition: the internal activities need to respect decisions taken at the Fall European Council

Consultations of the President with the governing coalition started at 12 PM at Cotroceni, the presidential headquarters. Opposition parties, invited as well refused to attend the meeting. The main themes on the agenda: relation with the IMF, joining Schengen and the conclusions of the Fall European Council. 

The internal activites of the government need to comply with the Fall European Council conclusions which is why I invited political parties for talks, President Basescu declared.  The priorities of the government are also the priorities of the country: the unique salary law, law on pensions, law on the state budget, the President underlined. 

The opposition announced as early as last week that they will not attend consultations. The governing coalition confirmed their presence, together with all minorities and the party formed by independents, UNPR.
