District 3 Court judges decided on Thursday to release under judicial control the former Romanian business attache of Romania's Embassy to Singapore Silviu Ionescu but the decision is not final, one of the lawyers defending the diplomat declared for the Romanian news agency Agerpres.

The court's decision can be attacked by prosecutors and the appeal will be judged next week. Ionescu's lawyer declared that one of the reasons invoked was that the diplomat needs to care for his wife, who is very sick.

Silviu Ionescu was accused of hitting two people with the official car. The driver left the scene of the accident and continued to drive to the next lights where he hit another person. The diplomat is accused of hit and run which caused the death of one of the victims.
