The trial involving businessman and media mogul Sorin Ovidiu Vantu, businessman Octavian Turcan and Vantu's driver Alexandru Stoian, accused for favoring fugitive Nicolae Popa to escape Romanian authorities starts on November 8, at Bucharest Court.

UPDATE The trial was porstponed, for November 26, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs. It was postponed after Alexandru Stoian requested a delay on grounds that he wishes to hire a lawyer. Also on Monday, the prosecutors requested an extension of the interdiction to leave the country for the accused and the court will rule on the request.

Sorin Ovidiu Vantu was indicted by prosecutors for favoring Romanian fugitive Nicolae Popa, who has a 15 year sentence in a file where thousands of hundreds of people were scammed.
