Bucharest Court judges rejected on Tuesday the request to release Romanian diplomat Silviu Ionescu, under judicial control and therefore he will remain under arrest. Silviu Ionescu, former Romanian business attache of the Romanian Embassy to Singapore is accused for two hit and runs in Singapore causing the death of one person and the severe injury of another two.
Singapore prosecutors claim that Silviu Ionescu was drinking and driving the official car of the Embassy. A witness, Ae Ree declared that Ionescu drank a lot before he drove off. On May 8, Silviu Ionescu was arrested by Romanian officials.
