Romanian Senates adopted on Tuesday a draft law that interdicts human cloning and some practices of development of human embryos, with the exception of in vitro fertilization, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs. The draft law will be debated in the Chamber of the Deputies, which is the decision maker.

The law was adopted by the Senate with 99 votes for, 3 against, and 2 abstains. The legislative initiative was undertaken by several Senators and Deputies across all political parties.
