The rulings of the unique pension scheme are constitutional, Romania's Constitutional Court decided on Wednesday rejecting the claims submitted by Social Democrats and Liberals, Romanian news agency Agerpres informs.

The Constitutional Court debated on Wednesday the claim submitted by 53 Liberal deputies regardig the unconstitutionality of some articles in the law on pensions. The main argument was discrimination among women and men.

The Social Democrats also submitted a complaint to the Constitutional Court on the law on pensions against procedural issues regarding the decision of the Chamber of Deputies Speaker Anastase to submit to the vote the President's request to re-examine the law on pensions and the law on pensions.

The Chamber adopted on Tuesday, December 7, the request of the President to modify the retirement age for women at 63 and for men at 65.
