A Romanian worker and an Italian one died in an explosion on Monday morning at a fireworks factory in Catania province, Sicily, Romanian news agency Mediafax reads quoting La Repubblica. According to the Italian press, the explosion took place at 10:30 AM Romanian time at the Pirotehnica Etnew fireworks factory in Sicily.

Two workers died and another one was hurt in the explosion which was followed by a fire. Medical services, firefighters and police officers were called at the accident. According to newspapers, La Repubblica and Il Giornale, one of the dead workers is a Romanian citizen and the second is Italian. According to TGcom.it, the Romanian worker who died is Petru M, aged 39. The Italian is called Giuseppe A., aged 75.
