The Department for the Relation with Parliament sent to the Parliament the government’s legislative priorities for the first ordinary session of 2011, considering that parliamentary works start on February 1st. The government plans to send to the parliament by June 70 draft laws plus another 20 which are on the agenda in the Senate and 36 in the Chamber of Deputies. Several other draft laws will be elaborated in the second half of the year.

According to government representatives, the government’s legislative priorities with an impact on the social sector are the modifications to the labor code, the general law on social assistance and the law on social dialogue.
