Victor Ponta and Crin Antonescu declared that there is no impediment to create, later this week, an alliance between the Social Democrats and the Liberals. Leaders of the three opposition parties, Social Democrats, Liberals nad Conservatives met in Adrian Nastase’s office to talk about the protocol of the future political alliance. Leaders of the opposition said that the principle of parity stands, Romanian news agency Agerpres reads.

The two leaders refused to offer any details regarding the name of the future alliance. PSD leader Ponta said that the plan is to have a common candidate for all major elections – Presidency, Prime Minister, County Council Presidents and Bucharest Mayor. He said that the alliance will nominate those candidates, who, after research prove are most well received by the people.

According to HotNews.ro sources, Ponta and Antonescu decided to attend local elections together in the 41 counties with 21 seats for PSD and 20 for the Liberals with a right to maintain their current positions. In the 20 counties of the Liberals, Conservative candidates will also be included.
