Fire arms are heard in the Tahrir square, downtown Egypt, Romanian freelance journalist Cristian Botez said in an audio interview for HotNews.ro from the famous barricade separating the group of protesters from the Mubarak supporters. Botez reveals that fire arms were heard first after 15 PM and the first person was shortly shot.

People in the square fear that fire arms are shot by snipers and people are reticent towards American journalists. In general, victims are from the protesters groups and most of them have injuries and helped at the first aid tents improvised in the square, Botez says. Botez says that the army withdrew from the streets and that people are generally very firm on their positions.

Botez says the situation might get worse than we had so far.
