An analysis on the financial situation over the last 10 years of the railway state companies revealed an increase of their arrears by 2,248%, a press release of the Transports ministry reads. The numbers seem incredible, which is why HotNews.ro contacted Transports ministry officials to confirm the numbers.
However, representatives of the Transports ministry confirmed the numbers, saying that these companies’ debts increased by over 22 times in 10 years. Of in 2000 there were 300 million lei, in 2010 the debts reached over 6.6 billion lei. In these conditions, the Transports ministry plans to establish the value of all real estate goods owned by the companies which are all sequestered.
