Bucharest Court rejected on Wednesday, February 16th the request to recuse judge Camelia Bogdan formulated by media mogul Sorin Ovidiu Vantu’s lawyers in the trial in which the businessman is indicted for favoring Romanian fugitive Nicolae Popa escape a 15 year sentence in Romania. Contacted by HotNews.ro, Vantu refused to give any details, saying that he will not discuss with the press favoring the ruling party.
Vantu’s lawyers motivated their request on grounds that the judge’s father was a victim of the financial engineering system created by Vantu which caused the bankruptcy of hundreds of thousands of Romanians.
