PM Emil Boc announed his candidacy for the Democratic Liberal Party president, sources participating at the meeting on Sunday declared for HotNews.ro saying that PM Boc will not remain Prime Minister up to the party’s congress on May 14 as he will resign after the motion of censure against the government’s new labour code. In the same meeting, Vasile Blaga also announced his candidacy.

Boc will take a final decision on Wednesday, after the motion of censure, HotNews.ro sources said. He did not offer too many explanations on his reasons for obtaining another mandate as President of the party. I run to continue the activity I already started, Boc told his colleagues. The two announcements were made in the first part of the meeting, when President Basescu did not attend, sources claim.

Moreover, during talks, the President manifested his total support for Boc. Local party leaders were called to Bucharest on Sunday at a meeting where the President also attended. According to Hotnews.ro sources, Blaga is supported by Radu Berceanu (Dolj), Adriean Videanu, Ioan Oltean ( Bistrita), Cezar Preda (Buzau), Gheorghe Flutur (Suceava), Gheorghe Albu, Sorin Frunzaverde (Caras Severin).

According to HotNews.ro sources, Blaga has the support of 20 counties across Romania including sectors 1,3,4 and 5 in Bucharest.

PM Boc is supported, according to HotNews.ro sources by Elena Udrea, Roberta Anastase, Raluca Turcan, Sulfina Barbu, William Branza, Danie Buda, Lucian Bode. Democrat Liberals who endorse Boc refrain from admitting it in public.
