Romanian daily Gandul will become an exclusively digital media product starting April 8th when it will launch an iPad application and will have a new online version, a press release of the newspaper reads quoted by Romanian news agency Mediafax. About the possibility of the newspaper to go digital, Iulian Comanescu first wrote about it on Friday.

Gandul.info will have a new online version with multiple functions and a new style, a press release reads. Online, on iPad and mobile the newspaper will publish the opinions of some of the most appreciated editorialists on the Romanian market but also photos and videos, the newspaper’s chief editorialist Claudiu Pandaru declared quoted by Mediafax.

Gandul, in its print edition, registered last year, on average, a decrease from 13,400 sales/edition to 11.600 sales/edition. Contacted by HotNews.ro, Cristian Tudor Popescu said he does not comment the decision of the board to go digital but assured that he will not leave the newspaper. He said that the life of print newspapers is just years away.
