Azerbaijan state oil company SOCAR plans to expand its foreign gas stations and Romania is one of the first countries on the list, ABC.az reads. Rovnag Abdullaiev, SOCAR president showed that in the last two-three years the company will open 300 gas stations across Romania.

SOCAR also started to expand its network in Ukraine, where seven new gas stations were open and another 17 units will follow. Abdullaiev announced in a press conference at Baku the company’s plans for Romania. Currently SOCAR owns the biggest gas station network in Georgia amounting to 100 this year.

If the company’s plans will become reality, SOCAR will be one of the biggest in Romania. Currently, Petrom owns 550 units, followed by Rompetrol with 450 units and Lukoil with 300 units.
