Businessman George Brailoiu, who bought on Thursday, at Paris the manuscripts and personal belongings of Romanian philosopher Emil Cioran announced at Radio Romania Actualitati that he will donate them to an institution in Romania. He said that was his purpose in the auction.

Brailoiu said that most probably, the institution to receive the manuscripts will be the Bucharest Central University Library but did not exclude the possibility to donate them to the Astra Library in Sibiu, as he found out that the philosopher would have wanted that.

Brailoiu said that he decided to buy the manuscripts a day before the auction, after hearing at RFI radio station an interview with a French official criticizing the Romanian state for not participating. He managed to join the auction just an hour before it began. There are 100 years since the birth of Emil Cioran on Friday.
