President of the Committee organizing the Democratic Liberal Party Convention, Sulfina Barbu declared on Wednesday that the party invited President Basescu to join the Convention on May 14 but said that the President did not confirm his presence yet.
She said that representatives of all governing parties and representatives of the European Popular’s Party were also invited, Romanian news agency Mediafax reports. President Basescu declared on Monday night for the public television that he will attend the Convention if invited. Moreover, when asked who he supports, Basescu said he does not want to make any comments on the issue and said that Emil Boc was a loyal partner.
