Chinese Ambassador to Bucharest, H.E. Liu Zengwen said that Chinese businessmen are interested to invest in the road infrastructure in Romania, including in highways but big investments need to be assured with state warrantees, news agency Mediafax reports.

The Ambassador said that Chinese and Romanian authorities had talks about a collaboration in developing road infrastructure and representatives of some Chinese companies made some research trips to Romania, talked about technical issues. The Chinese official said that there are some problems that still need to be addressed, seeking solutions that would be the best for both parties.

He said that Chinese investors need to know the legal framework very well before investing for that advantages to be twofold. The investment is not for free, the Ambassador said. He said that for very big investments the state needs to ensure the investment through state warrantees or commercial warrantees and at the moment the state cannot offer them, being conditioned by the IMF and EU budgetary deficit target.
