Bucharest Police published on its Internet webpage, a virtual map describing the metropolitan traffic. The map allows drivers to check for information at any moment of the day, finding details about the traffic conditions in crowded areas.

According to an official press release, “the data is supplied by officers in the field, but citizens are also able to signal traffic problems, calling 9544”.

The map posted on the Police webpage will signal traffic events (such as accidents), segments with difficult or blocked transit, construction or repairing works that impede the circulation or even broke-down traffic lights.

In the attempt to bring back to normal the unbearable traffic in Bucharest, the Interior Ministry decided a week ago to double the number of Traffic Police officers at crossroads. The Ministry also analyzes the possibility to block al construction and repairing works after December 15.
