The Romanian currency RON depreciated by a further 1.27% against the euro on Wednesday, reaching a new record low a day after it fell to the year-long record set in November 2006, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs. The Romanian National Bank representatives argue that this is a normal correction of the RON/euro exchange rate.

The Romanian currency depreciated from 3.4930 Romanian Ron/Euro to 3.5220 Romanian RON/euro.

Lucian Croitoru, a counselor for Romanian National Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu, argues for Reuters that the depreciation is part of a natural correction.
