The head of the main opposition party, Social Democrat Mircea Geoana, declared on Wednesday that the 39% budget income collection rate, as the Government prognoses indicate for 2008, is nothing but an erotic dream, since the rate was only 30% on 2007. The social-democrat leader believes that the budget draft for 2008 in unrealistic.
"The absorption rate for European funds, established at 60%, is also unrealistic. In 2007 we did absolutely nothing to attract European funds, and this makes it impossible to reach a 60% absorption rate in 2008", Geoana added.
