Pope Benedict XVI declared, during a meeting with Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu, that an entire people can not be labeled because of the action of one man.

Tariceanu had a 45 minutes meeting with the Pope, received as a courtesy gesture from the Holy Father, who generally doesn't receive guests on Wednesdays. Even more, Tariceanu was received along with his wife, Ioana Popescu Tariceanu.

The meeting took place just before Tariceanu went to see Italian prime minister Romano Prodi, to debate the situation of Romanian immigrants, days after a Roma ethnic from Romania was accused of killing an Italian woman.

Pope Benedict XVI expressed, in the public prayer on Sunday, his hope for a high-courtesy relation between immigrants and locals.
