Two men and a woman have received the liver and the two kidneys respectively from a Romanian woman aged 38 who died after drinking methanol. La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, a Sicilian newspaper, shows that this is the third time in the last months when the lives of Italians are saved due to organs donated from dead Romanian migrants.

The doctors underlined the great solidarity gesture of the mourning family, given the current political context in Italy where Romanian workers have been facing reprisals after one migrant of Romanian origin killed an Italian woman recently.

Italian journalists emphasize the fact that the woman’s husband accepted that his wife’s cornea be also donated.

The two were working in agriculture and left three small children back home in Romania.
