Some 3000 Romanians are confronting serious floods as hundreds of land acres and dozens of homes are affected by river overflows in several Romanian counties.

According to Antena 3 news television, some 14 towns were affected in the county of Vrancea, Eastern Romania alone. Local authorities say the waters are decreasing but the damages remain.

Realitatea TV confirms that in the county of Bacau an important bridge was destroyed, isolating nearby communities.

The flood warning issued by meteorologists earlier this week expires on Thursday.
