The main opposition group in Romania, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) presented its candidates for the upcoming European Parliamentary elections officially on Tuesday.

The Social Democrats took the opportunity to present their electoral offer for the campaign. The document, structured in 10 points, emphasizes what it calls the failures of the current Liberal government.

Party President Mircea Geoana said that these elections, the first European poll to take place in Romania after its EU accession, are a test of maturity, since they mark 18 years since the Revolution.

However, controversies within the party did not cease to appear regarding the nominees and their places on the list.
