Blundering frontier officers in Moldova sanctioned

The two frontier officers who prevented three Romanian delegations from entering Moldova last week were sanctioned, according to a statement made on Wednesday by Igor Kolenov, general manager of the Frontier Police, quoted by Basa-press.

Last week, three official Romanian delegations were returned from the border, the reason being that the documents inviting them to the Kishinev Days were copies, not originals.

Kolenov accepts that the officers had no legal ground to denies the access of the delegations and describes the incident as a "singular and regrettable case".

Moldovan Foreign Minister Andrei Stratan, also says the case is unique and regrets the fact that it stirred political discussions, being presented in European Institutions as Moldova's position towards Romania.
