The National Authority regulating Communication and Information Technologies will pass under the authority of the Parliament. The Romanian House of Deputies passed Tuesday a draft law ruling that the regulating authority of the telecom sector will be lead by a board of councils formed by seven members under Parliamentary control.

The project was approved with 207 votes for, 10 against and 1 abstain. Institution’s officials say that the main reason is the elimination of any suspicions regarding political subjectivity.
