The Audio-Video Coordination Council (CCA) of Moldova suspended the broadcast of Romania’s public station, TVR1, the AP Flux news agency informs. CCA decided to offer the frequency to a local station, Tele FM International.

The main supporter of the initiative, Corneliu Mihalache, head of CCA, said that „it happened what should have happened a long time ago. It is good news the fact that the frequency was offered to a local station”.

Another CCA member, Vlad Turcanu, officially stated that the decision was illegal.

„According to the law, CCA may withdraw a broadcasting license only in case that a TV station, for technical reasons, fails to respect the schedule for 45 days”, said Turcanu.
