Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev plans to re-enter the Russian political scene after a long break. Next to Genrikh Borovik, Russian theater writer Mikhail Shatrov and a series of politicians from the perestroika period, Gorbachev has announced the creation of a new social democratic national movement.
“Our goal is to personally contribute to the efforts to make Russia a modern and democratic country where human rights are respected” says a group's press release cited by the Russian publication Vzgliad.
