The income from salaries in Romania had the highest growth rate in the region during the last year, but the value remains generally some 20-30 % below neighboring countries like Hungary, Slovakia or the Czech Republic, a study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) reveals.

On the local market, the highest growth was noted in the IT area, where the salary for a project manager increased 20% and for a programming expert - 29%.

Compared to the average income in the economy, the managers earn some 11 times more. Specialists earn three time the average net salary, while beginners have a wage 1.6 times larger than the net average.

In income packages, the fixed component seems to decrease, in favor of a growth of benefits and bonuses. Most benefits consist in present for special occasions, followed by meal tickets. Some other benefits include pension funds and capital insurances.
