According to the data available by September 14, the Ukrainian Danube Delta channel of Bastroye has been crossed by over 500 ships since navigation was opened there in May this year.

The channel allowed the crossing of ships from 21 states, according to a press release of Ukrainian state-owned company Delta-Lotman.

The key indicator is that 45% of the commercial circuit provided by Lower Danube was taken over by the Bastroe channel. In a press release, Delta-Lotman says that the canal was not finished yet and even so it was widely used.

Regarding the environmental protection issues representatives claim they count on the Romanian collaboration since they're exploiting three Danube Delta channels and are currently building a fourth one.
