US snowmobile and motorcycle maker Polaris Industries will invest 50 million euro (some 70 million USD) to build a snowmobile factory in Romania or Bulgaria, company officials announced on Friday, quoted by Reuters. The investor plans to employ up to 800 workers and some 80% of the factory production, or some 60,000 units in the first year, is to be exported to EU member countries.

The location of the factory will be decided in November this year, Bogdan Gheorghiu, regional manager for Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova said, quoted by Reuters.

He said Polaris will launch the investment in the second half of 2008. The company expects annual sales of 250 million euro.
